The Honda CBF Stunner Self Disc and CB500X are both practical single-track transportation, but their intended journeys differ considerably. The CBF Stunner was an Indian-market 125 cc commuter dressed in sporty bodywork. The CB500X is an internationally sold, middleweight adventure-style road bike with a 471 cc parallel-twin engine and substantially greater performance.
“Self Disc” identifies a Stunner fitted with electric start, a front disc brake and alloy wheels. It does not describe a motorcycle that brakes autonomously, which is probably for the best given the electronics available when the model was introduced.

Which Honda Is the Better Fit?
The Stunner’s strengths are simplicity, low fuel use and inexpensive city operation. Its slim chassis and modest power are well suited to dense traffic, while the front disc offers stronger braking hardware than the drum-brake variant. The half-fairing and split-seat styling supply the appearance of speed without making unreasonable demands on the 125 cc engine.
The CB500X is the clear choice for faster roads and longer distances. Its twin-cylinder engine, larger tank, broader seat and windscreen make touring realistic, while the upright riding position remains useful in town. It is heavier and more expensive to run than the Stunner, but it offers a performance margin the smaller bike cannot approach.
For used examples, inspect maintenance records, tires, chain and sprockets. On a Stunner, confirm the electric starter and front brake operate correctly. On a CB500X, check that accessories, luggage mounts and electrical additions were installed neatly rather than through interpretive wiring.
