As ICE agents surged into Minneapolis, they found actual road ice to be more than a match for their wits and driving skill.
Look at this. The federal agents have all but given up, and they haven’t even activated four-wheel drive. They also haven’t made it out of the parking lot.

Sure, These ICE Agents Got Stuck, But the Neighbors Heckling Them Is the Remarkable Thing
Ignore for a second that these ICE agents got stuck where no locals are getting stuck.
Pay attention to the people on foot, just lambasting the agents and refusing to help.
Edit: Previously, we linked this video as a Reddit link, but might be easier to view from Youtube. Ope!
This is basically unheard of. If you get stuck in snow in the Midwest, it’s normally like a fun little community barn-storm to get you unstuck. People swarm in to help.
Turns out, shooting area mothers really takes the shine off Midwestern nice.
How Do You Drive in Snow, Anyway?
So, if you find you get stuck in 3-inch-deep snow… for starters, don’t do that. That’s not much snow. It’s embarrassing to get stuck in so little.
A few extremely basic notes:
- Don’t kick the gas pedal like these ICE agents are doing. Slow and steady.
- Turn on 4WD. Obviously.
- If you don’t have 4WD, whatever, you should be fine. It’s really not that much snow.
If you’re stuck and can’t dig yourself out with the shovel you carry for this exact purpose, flag down a friendly Midwesterner to pull you out. Some flannel-clad hoonigan like me will happily pull you out with a rescue strap.
This works way better if you don’t have a reputation for killing unarmed women in the city you’re in, so ICE might be SOL in this case.
Point is, this isn’t really rocket science. It gets genuinely hard to drive in deep snow, like 6+ inches. It’s doable, but you might want snow tires, and it’ll be easier with a car built for the purpose, like this ICE agent’s tacticool-wrapped Chevy.
Meal Team Six Has a Man Down
If you were worried that a few feds just get the yips behind the wheel, don’t be! They’re just as clowny on foot.
Watch these two ICE “special” agents re-enact a slapstick comedy skit on ice:
ICE agents slipping on actual Ice

If you’re going to carry a long gun on an American street like you’re an old-west lawman or a mass shooter, pro tip: walk on the snow, not the very wet-looking pavement.
Alternatively, you could drop some of the budget from those Call of Duty gun attachments and put the money into ice crampons and walk around like you’re a local 80-year-old.
Update: Federal agents are rapidly iterating their training to respond to local conditions, responding to the concerns of democratically elected local officials, and – BAH, who am I kidding? Watch this immigration agent slip, fall, almost snatch the nearest reporter on reflex, and then do the trot of shame back to his unmarked Chevy. Again, the collective laughter as the man slips is deeply abnormal for the Midwest.
ICE officers slipping on ice while trying to terrorize communities is the most accurate metaphor imaginable. No balance. No footing. No moral ground. Just cruelty, incompetence, and gravity doing its thing.

The Feds Are Cutting Corners Because Safety Isn’t the Point
If this were an isolated incident, it would just be a funny, if embarrassing, thing for whatever “special” agent was driving.
Apparently though, ICE agents are now being sent through just 47 days of training.
Get it? Trump is the 47th president. The perfect excuse to cut the training period from about five months to less than a third of that. The incompetence on the streets is the end result of sycophancy for a political patron.
Here’s the reporting on that decision: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2025/08/ice-recruitment-immigration-enforcement-billions/684000/
Evidently, snow driving and common sense were both cut from the curriculum to make it just right to fluff up one particular president.
Of course, this creates dangerous situations. It’s increasingly clear that creating danger is the point.
