What an absolute mess of a design flaw, by the way. Utterly pointless. Demonstrably lethal. If we don’t recall over that, why have a recall process at all?

“Only Teslas Exempt from New Auto Tariffs Thanks to 85% Domestic Content Rule”

… this story about how Teslas were the only cars to pass a new rule and be exempt from tariffs… quite a coincidence, right.

• Covered by Mashable, who seemed to share our surprise that not a single non-Tesla model made the cut.
• Covered by Naked Capitalism, the excellent economists who once again listed our work among far better publications. We’re right after The New York Times in their reading list concerning tariff impacts.
• And, we’re nothing if not social! (Just kidding, we’re superbly anti-social.) We were on the front page of Hacker News and Reddit.com/r/technology with this piece.

We were excited to break the news and see it commented on so widely. More shocked than anything that other far-better economists didn’t run down the numbers before us.
